so much went down in this chapter, the main plot points are beginning to approach center stage.

gotta tell you I real felt heartbroken for blossom this chapter, but I feel like once she inevitably becomes aware of brick's death-dealing enterprise, she'll see bricks statements from the roof as an act of selflessness. part of me feels like brick unknowingly feels like he doesn't deserve her. another powerful moment here was the confrontation between brick and mojo. mojo points out something I picked up on back at the beach chapter. brick is still living in the shadow of his fathers. what he doesn't realize is that he is taking the easy way out. Him and Mojo are trying to take out beings of pure nobility that can singlehandly protect the world while brick and co. are going after sittings ducks. in the end, if his fathers were to succeed, anything he would accomplish with his evil enterprise would be insignifigant. and even if they didn't. they would still be seen as superior villains being that there dealing a bigger threat. at some point, i feel like brick would realize this on his own, and that the only way for him to truly have ( ... )

i love this story with a burning passion. the small details, the character development, everything. i have waited a long time for this chapter, and i'm so happy that i waited. i can definitely see why it takes so long for updates to happen because the quality of this chapter is more than golden. i can't wait to read what you have planned next :)

now that you point that out I do see a bit of pride in his actions on the roof, but I also see it as selfless aswell. if this was the old chptr 1 brick, he would have intiated a small fling with her and dump her to get out of his system, assuming that his hormones would burn out afterwards. but he actually decides to end it before she could really get to know him, particulary his involvement with js inc. if he would of let this continue, her finding out would be even more heartbreaking. but since he didn't, once she inevitably finds out about his skeletons in the closet, she'll realize that he spared her the grief of being involved with the opposite of everything she stands for. this would only make her see bricks potential for good even more as he actually is thinking of her needs instead of just his own. thanks for reading my response

I agree with both of you. Brick's actions are both Pride and Selflessness--of course it's merely a matter of perception and who interprets what from where ( ... )

I'm not crying. There are just robot bits in my eyes.

I can't say anything more than what has already been said, but as far as chapters go, BAM, this one is a heavy-hitter. No chapter is "filler" but if there ever was one, this one is on the opposite end of the spectrum. So much deliciousness.

Once again, sbj, your command of your craft is nigh-unparalleled and your attention to detail is stunning. And also your propensity for feels. All the feels. All kinds of feels and goodness and tragedy. My babies let me love you *sobbing*
