Roof climbing in Cambridge

Jul 21, 2007 10:21

Does anyone happen to have copies of (or access to) the roof climbing guides to Cambridge, particularly the ones that aren't about Trinity eg Wall and Roof Climbing (1905) & Whipplesnaith's The Night Climbers of Cambridge (Chatto & Windus; 1937)? I'm interested in a historical reference for the practice of bridge hopping.

I've got Night Climbers. From a quick flick through (no index) it doesn't seem to talk about bridge-hopping, though. The only bridge-related plates are traversing the Bridge of Sighs and starting over Trinity Bridge from the ground rather than a punt. Oh, and something called a bridge in Pembroke which doesn't have the river under it.

That's a shame. I'm not convinced the Bridge of Sighs climb can be done as a bridge hop. Thanks for looking, anyway.

A bit late, here, but there is a whole manifesto up online, with pictures, here, in case you hadn't seen that (and were still looking).
