[Voice-Filtered from Kefka]

Everything has to happen at once....

[She sighs.]The chance to return...is it real? I want to believe it, but there's plenty of reasons to believe it's a trap, too. It's not as though this place hasn't given reason for paranoia before. This could just be the latest reason, proven the moment we step through the gate ( Read more... )

event, too good to be true, conflicted, suspicious, probably a trap, we can leave?, wtf, letter event

Is it worth the risk to not take it? I found one of these letters recently, too.

It's starting to look as though everyone's getting them. If all of us do, then...going or staying, I wouldn't want to do either unless we all did it.

Hm. If everyone is getting a letter, then surely Kefka must have received one as well. What if we could stop him from returning?

...we have to try. If he returns to our world, then he'll destroy what's left.

I won't say the option of having a proper ship isn't tempting, but can we trust the letter to be true?

I don't know. It's too convenient, isn't it? Giving us just what we want? And there's no way to find out how true it is until that date.

Not to mention the differences in times.

That, too. How can one gate take everyone everywhere, and to every time? It sounds impossible.

I wish it were true, too. But... every shred of reason within me is doubting it. Normally rushing into things without thinking is how I do things because it's fun. But here, I can't afford to take those risks.

I don't know. I really want to hope it's true. But I just can't bring myself to. There are too many questions...

And even if it were true, and I left, would that be abandoning the friends I made here?

It's everyone's choice to make, though how many will agree to it remains to be seen. I don't want to abandon anyone either, but...I have Kefka to think about. What if he tries to return? What if he can?

This doesn't feel right, but I can't shake those questions.

I understand. And if Kefka tries to escape, I'd expect you and your friends to go right after him. That's a risk I don't think anyone reasonable would blame you for taking.

I know I wouldn't. But... for people like me, who live comfortably at home, who have no battle to get back to? If I left when there was something I could do for my friends, I couldn't live it down. Leaving friends behind that need help isn't my style.

I understand. If I lacked such urgency, I would be even more torn about this. I wouldn't want to leave anyone I know behind, if there's some reason they can't or won't depart.

...do you think we could spar soon? I could use the distraction.

I don't trust it in the least bit. It's obvious it does not come from the Malnosso with the reference to "the Organization" and with them eliminated, there are only two parties that we know of who would send such a thing.

One of those parties wishes to kill all of us permanently, and the other I don't fully trust because we are being used as pawns against that other party by her.

But the decision to trust whoever sent these letters of course is up to each of us. I personally doubt I will take the chance.

I wouldn't want to go unless all of us did, but I find it difficult to believe that it's true anyway. It's exactly what most people here want...and a convenient way to walk right into whatever they have planned. Anything could happen to us if we walked through that gate and there's no way to tell until it happened.

...do you think Kefka will go?

And whatever they have planned could be far worse than being here and considering what I know of the two possible parties who could do it, I'm more inclined to think it is related to the Third Party. If that is true, all the more reason not to take it.

I doubt Kefka will go. From what we know of him, he is either from the time where we finally defeated him or shortly before that. I'm sure he knows he will be defeated, so what would he have to return to, especially when he would not have any memory of what he knows from here to prevent his defeat from happening?

No, he'd benefit more from staying here. I think any of those who are dead in their worlds likely will decide the same.

The Third Party? Maybe...they couldn't wipe out everyone through force, so they could be trying a different tactic.

If Kefka stays, that's all the more reason to remain. I can't in good conscience attempt to leave, knowing that he's still here and manipulating and tormenting people. That would be a slap in the face to everyone who's tried to help us.

It's too suspicious.

I would be surprised if you thought anything else about it...but I agree. I wonder if we should see this gate for ourselves anyway. Then again, Kefka probably expects us to do just that.

That's more reason to keep an eye on things.
