I've been resisting the urge lately to ask all the really anorexic looking girls at my school if they still get their periods. I'm curious as to just how skinny you have to get before you stop menstrating. I mean, are we talking unhealthy underweight or dangerously unhealthy underweight? I also want to know if they've noticed excess body hair. ( Read more... )

I completely agree with you on this one, Lori. While obesity is certainly one of America's top public health problems, I've never understood the whole "I weigh over 125 lbs, so I must be hideous" mentality. It seriously bothers me that some women with average body weight actually consider themselves obese.

No, I'm not a big fan of angular and bony either.

I know, it always scares me when I think about how Sticks are basically setting the fashion trends nowadays. Which means that the clothing sizes are changing as well. Small ain't what it used to be, at least in stores at the mall and stuff. I don't see myself as hideously obese, so it's pretty sad when I have to buy Xtra large anything.

maybe it's just because I'm a girl and I think that femininity is a good thing, but what ever happened to curves being good? Like hips? and Breasts? and butts? Women are not supposed to be angular and bony.

down with the angles!

I, for one, am all about the curves. curves are where it's at. no questions about it.

Consider me on the same page.

oh, also.. i'm glad that you capitalized the "B" on Breasts. I'm not really sure why, but it just seems right.

those are all really good points. You should ask the girls some time... See if they can truly answer.
