You have an awesome imagination for monsters. *___* Six legs + horns does make me think of... insects though. XDD
Everything was brightening slowly, and Marland could hear a crinkling sound in the air, almost like slow hissing static.
He can tell when Shodin's using his magic. :3 Coool.
He was then thrown back by another blast of the Other's magic.
*flails* He's getting hurt again!
Fair enough his job was to kill Others, but he didn't want to TORTURE them.
Those Others were pulled out of their natural habitat. ):
That was when the world BURNED white, a tremendous band surrounding them, and Marland was both blinded and deaf, a hollow ringing in his ears that seemed to echo in his head as well.
0_____0;; Huh, what burns white? Stray magic from Shodin? Another portal opening?

): Yep. I was thinking so much about the Others' situation at the start, because, well, yeah, they're suddenly out of their habitat, no idea where they are, an then there's suddenly a whole bunch of noise and/or flashing - they're going to attack or run away.
*facepalm* Tyyypo. Tremendous bang. The next part is up! So... I didn't actually explain what that was there. Oops. Doubt Marland would find out either.
