On writing and recent omisions

I was terribly remiss in yesterday's post not to mention that on Saturday I entertained anteros_lmc and toots overnight. ITV marked the occasion by kindly showing The Examination for Lieutenant and I made Anteros watch Merlin fanvids at 3am. Good times ( Read more... )

My feeling is this: write it and see. If you need to slap an explanatory note in front you can always do that. But I am pretty casual about these things. And i have found that your writing, in particular makes good sense to me even when I don't really know who the people are.

I am slavering to read this one!

Even the very best historical novels have afterwords I've noticed giving a bit of context, so if it's good enough for them and so on!

He's ideal for fiction really, all we know is the bare biographical facts so everything else can be at the whim of the author.

Good times indeed! To be fair, I didn't take much persuading :)

Well you know how much I enjoy your Plantagenet fics, so I'm dying to read your cross over. You're right about the issue of assumed knowledge, but I agree with eglantine_br that explanatory notes and bravura writing can overcome that problem, so I don't think you'll have any trouble!
