Finally Home

Dec 20, 2010 15:00

Eventually got on train bound for Highlands at 9.30pm last night, got off on outskirts of Glasgow at 7.30am this morning and was picked up by Father.

Looks like I was right to cut my loses at the airport as nearly all short haul flights are still canceled.

travel, real life

When you come to write your memoirs, this will be but an amusing annecdote in an epic story.

In the meantime it sucked hairy demon donkey balls, but I'm glad you made it home safely.

I quite enjoyed the sleeper! It was like being on the Orient Exress if the Orient Express was taken over by Aldi.

Huzzah you're back!! I knew you could rely on good old Collingwood to get you home! Did you bump into bounce on the train?

I kept an ear out but alas I didn't hear Bounce bounding along the corridors. It's a pity it wasn't called Indefatigable, I could have yelled, "It's the bloody Indy!" when it pulled in!

One should shout "It's the bloody Indy!!" at every available opportunity regardless of whether it is actually there or not.

I dont know what it's like in Europe but in London it wasn't anything like what I would call bad, they just can't deal with four inches of snow and the authorities seem pathologically incapable of accepting the fact that one day it will snow again and they should perhaps plan for when it does.

europe seems paralyzed and yeah 4 inches is nothing

Parts of America paralysed too I am hearing from friends out there !

so glad you got there - well done you for that excellent decision

and hurray for Cuddy

a train called the Indefatigable would be good - chartered for special events only of course
