It's so fun reading this challenge, I always learn something new! I thought the only way you could give a townie a makeover was with the OFB chair. How does it work with the vanity? And what house is that in the background when Anastasia was getting ready to go on her jog? It's beautiful!
You've always been able to give makeovers with the vanity, but it's a function that I think most people forget about. (I know that I forget about it a lot.) You just click on the vanity and choose "Makeover... [townie's name]" They will never say no, and you never get a bad result. Easy peasy! :)
The house in the background when Anastasia is getting ready to go jogging is actually the asylum -- er, the residential facility for people with psychological differences. It's an empty Maxis-made house from Pleasantview that I stole and repainted. I guess you rarely get a long view in the story it belongs to.
The creator of the challenge has said that with a little planning, everything should be doable within a 24 hour span. Of course, I'm not as good at planning as she is... >.> That said, Anastasia speaks for me when she says the time limits are a bunch of hooey.
The one (parody of a) reality show I've ever seen had interviews in out-of-the-way spots, so that's what I'm going by. I'm glad to hear it works, and I'm glad you're enjoying the story! Thanks for reading! :D
I love reading this challenge, it makes the game so interesting.
What was the point that Rebecca had to get? Is that one of the potions? That's another thing on my list to try that I've not done with the game before.
I didn't know that about make-overs either! :)
It's strange to read this without Descartes, but the family's still Awesome, and well done to Abbey making a friend when she's so shy. :)
What aspiration did Allyn get? Ah, I almost forgot she's adopted, Anastasia's right then, she is too young to be the mother of a teenager! :D
The point was "Drink Love Potion." Have you really never tried it before? It makes flowers grow where the sim walks, and makes a cloud of hearts follow them, and makes romantic actions much easier. It may also improve chemistry, but don't quote me on that.
The makeovers-with-the-vanity is a neat little trick that I was using in the brief time period when I had NL, but did not yet have OFB. (About two or three weeks.) It's a good one to know.
I miss Descartes. :'( But the Awesomeness is genetic, and Abbey was no slouch in that department herself.
I don't remember what Allyn's aspiration is, but I will look it up and put it in the next update for sure! And yes, Anastasia is too young to have a Teen daughter. If she'd started right away, her kid would be the same age as Winifred. Anastasia may be abrasive, but she's generally accurate.
I tend to forget about vanity makeovers too, but they're very useful.
The social bunny did eventually turn up, briefly, about three o'clock in the morning after the deadline -- while Anastasia was cooking the omelet, actually. But it only showed up very briefly, and too late to count.
Abbey is cool, and always has been. Anastasia takes after her parents in terms of being Awesome, although she's more abrasive than either. (The one Nice point is actually more visible in her than in Descartes.)
Heh, poor Anastasia. That's not the nicest task to end up with. (I had to giggle at her hammering the sprinkler.) And social bunnies are kind of hard, it does take a while for them to show up. And unfortunately the next one wasn't "make out with five sims" either. :D
Anyway, well done on the tasks, especially Allyn for the friend one, despite her shyness.
Yay for birthdays! Georgia seems cute, and I'm curious to see more of the teenaged Allyn. :)
17 points in 15 days? You're ahead of schedule, then! :)
Yes, Anastasia doesn't always have an easy time of it. But no matter who got the task, it was going to be tough -- I generally keep the Social motive pretty high, so dropping it low enough for a bunny takes a loooooong time. (And Sims whacking things with hammers and wrenches never gets old.) I just played this household again, and I think she might like part of the next task, but that's all I'm saying. >.>
Abbey is pretty well made of Win in her own right, and making friends is just a sign of that. :) Although I will admit that Macrotastics was a great help...
There will be more teenaged Allyn next time, I promise. I actually thought I took a picture of her all made over, but apparently I hallucinated that. :( Georgia is pretty cute, yep. She has good genes from both sides, and her dad's dramatic coloring works well on her.
Yes, those extra two points are insurance for those times when I can't accomplish anything! I've had them before, and I'm sure I'll have them again. A perfect score is 200, I think, but 100 is a winning score,

Your commentary is always so funny. I especially like the "couch interviews"!

I read this one last night, but it was late so you get the comment today- now that my net is back.
I always forget about vanity makeovers. Fuzzy reminded me of those back when I was moaning about Opal's (from my OWBC) hair when she was a child.
So did the social bunny turn up?
Good going on Abbey's part getting the friend point.
I like Ana though, she's funny. :D
