The prompt for this story was “Flowers for a loved one,” submitted by hbcirce. This story fits into Already in Progress round about Chapter 18 or 19.

Suitable for all ages, but may perhaps require a tissue. Or then again, it may not.

I find it funny you mentioned the language of flowers. My boyfriend knew I was into as he says it "girl stuff like that" and found a small book on the subject. It was his very first gift to me, though we weren't dating yet. ;p

Thank you so much for writing something so lovely. It tugged on the heart lines just enough to make me smile. Indeed issue worthy. :)

I've always wanted to learn the language of flowers. That's so cool that you have a book about it! (And are you /sure/ you weren't dating at the time? My parents still argue about when their first date was -- my father considered them to be dating significantly before my mother did. :P)

Thank /you/ for giving me the prompt so I could write this!

Lol! Yeah, we do disagree. He thinks May, I say September. But, we both know I am right. ;p

Aw so lovely. Jon and Emmy always were so perfect together, and this really sums up the way they were.

I've only heard a bit about the language of flowers, but it'd be nice to learn.

Love that Jon consulted Emmy about Sarah-Jane and Timmy, and aww at this very thing happening in your story a generation later, right now.

Well written Esme, beautifully sad and sweet.

I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to write Jon and Emmy for you, because it had been so long since I wrote them. I guess I didn't need to worry. :)

My knowledge of the language of flowers comes from Wikipedia...

I hadn't really thought very much about the timing, but it is nicely artistic now, isn't it? *shakes head ruefully* I'll have to do something about those pretentious artistic tendencies. :P

Thank you for the compliment!
