Aww, little Clorinda is such a cutie! And Bella is okay, despite Bryan being less than helpful!

Clarence, too, is still cute.

Lots of new things to eat, too. The pinkish ones are good. *nods*

As for the fire, I would have done the same thing. Risking breaking a less-than explicit rule is better than risking losing sims, in my book.

Fun update! :)

[Spoiler (click to open)]Bryan is very helpful, in his own way. He's always willing to see if something is edible, for example, and he's good with kids, and he's very very easy to trick into changing every diaper those kids have ever worn, not to mention emptying the potty. If you adjust your expectations to his capabilities, he's quite helpful indeed.

Clorinda and Clarence are little darlings, and very understanding and tolerant of poor old Daddy. (In the original story, which I believe you are not caught up on coz is super long, Bryan is of normal intelligence, as indeed the sim still is. But this is a sitcom, and every sitcom needs a dumb one.)

I like the pinkish ones when they're red, but it was hard to keep all the green things happy, especially when the other green things that don't taste good came up around the bottom of them. *nods*

I'm glad I wasn't alone in that decision, and Jo has ruled that using the "extinguish" action is perfectly fine, so yay for sensible women like Bella and Katri and Esme!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading and ( ... )

Oh, I only meant in the context of having Clorinda - and then again, sims tend to be rather less than helpful in that situation anyway. Otherwise Bryan is indeed very helpful. :)

[Spoiler (click to open)]Are men generally any help at a birth anyway? I've never had a baby myself, so I don't know from experience, but the stereotype is that they are not much use... When my mother was in labor with my sister, my father kept making jokes and making her laugh when it really hurt a LOT to laugh and she was very angry at him, but then he also brought her ice chips, so she ended up forgiving him after all.

"There are some subtle differences" lol, I should hope so. Poor Bryan, but he's good for a laugh.

Good looking crop they have there.

Yes, extinguish is legal since sims have no other way of putting out a fire. It's only illegal to use the fire brigade since there wasn't any in the stone age. A bucket of water sounds like a very good explanation.

Since Bryan ends up doing most of the diaper changes, you'd think he'd've noticed that one, but no... You may or may not remember Bryan as being of normal intelligence in AiP, but he plays dumb very well, doesn't he? Every sitcom needs a "dumb one". :P

Their crop did very nicely; I was proud. Unfortunately, nobody seems to have gotten the "bland cucumbers" joke yet... :(

I'm so glad that extinguishing the fire was legal! I mean, they know how to use water and how to carry it, so I didn't think it was too far-fetched, but having Official confirmation is nice.

Thanks for reading and commenting! :D

Aww, that must have gone right over my head, I was rather tired, but of course re-reading I do indeed get the joke! :)

So when they move into the Roman Age (coming up next after they get the fishing badge and max creativity), could they call the fire brigade? Ancient Rome had fire brigades, but then there weren't any again through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Amy is playing that next stage as Early Medieval, and you recommended that, but you did say that Egyptian and Roman were okay too, and I like the idea of Bryan in a toga, so Roman it is.

Aww, Clorinda is cute. :D

Good thinking with the fire, that makes sense. My CtoF has lots of lightning, but no fires so far, so I'm not sure what I would have done with mine.

It still makes me laugh with them having to test if they can eat everything, good job it's all been edible so far! :)

I like that you're doing different historical periods to mine, it's nice to see alternative ways of playing the same challenge. :)

Clorinda *is* cute! Both kids are, so far. :)

I'm glad Jo said that using the extinguisher is okay. I didn't want my sims to die, and they can't study fire safety for a long long time!

Well, you know, somebody had to be the first person to try eating things, and I bet a lot of people died in the attempt to figure out what was good and what wasn't. Bryan's been lucky so far. But it was a brave, brave person who first tried an egg!

Yes, I'm glad our historical periods aren't lining up too -- it makes life more interesting, and I don't feel like I'm copying. I will be doing Roman for the next stage, so we should still be okay on not lining up. I suppose we can't help but line up on some things, though, like Victorian or Modern. (Although perhaps Jo would allow Edwardian instead of Victorian, or we could do Early Victorian and Late Victorian, or something? The woman ruled for fifty-plus years, so there's lots of options there...)

Thanks for reading and commenting! :D
