Hooray for an update!

[Spoiler (click to open)]
Aww, Clarence is a cutie. :) And it seems he's taking after Bella a lot.

Yay for shelters and animal skins to sleep under! And the thing for Clarence with the holes in it!

Bryan is right, Bella is amazing. Especially in landing on her butt while fishing. :D

So more little ones on the way. Yay! :)

Another fun update! Keep up the good work, Esme! :)

Hooray for a comment!

[Spoiler (click to open)]Clarence is a cutie-pie, that's for sure! And smarter than Bryan, although that's not very hard. :P

Bella is so clever about things like skins and boards with holes and all the other little things that make life easier and more enjoyable! Amazing is really the only word of it. (The landing on her butt while fishing is just the cherry on top.)

Yes, I need to have three little ones each generation, so there are at least two more on the way. (There's always a chance of twins, though, so there might end up being four. We'll find out!)

I'm so glad you enjoyed the update! Thanks for reading and commenting! :D

Cute :)

Nice fur bedding - they really are moving up! Can they eat the fish yet? Something tells me that's going to be a big hit with them. Do you have a mod to make it less delicious/satisfying for them? Cuz sparkly Sim fish always makes me want to have some.

Thanks. :)

The fur bedding is a Castaway Stories conversion, as is most of the stuff I intend to use for the Wood Age. (That's what they're in now, where they can use things made out of wood as well as things made out of stone.) Sure, they can eat the fish right from the beginning -- fish and veggies are how they live until you get high enough for a grocery store. And it's the only thing keeping them alive most of the time. They're always tired, smelly, hungry, and in need of the bush, but at least the sparkly fish keeps the hunger manageable. I don't have any mods to adjust the deliciousness and/or fillingness of the fish at all. I'm not a fan of fish, but the sparkly cereal always makes me think of cereal with fresh fruit in and I get hungry for some of that, so I know where you're coming from.

Yay for shelter! It's so much easier to look after them when they're not at the mercy of the elements. :)

Way to go Bella, that's a lot of stuff sorted. :) Fishing is definitely helpful, and Bella seems to be pro at it already.

I think the fridge idea is fine, much better than mine just having a modern fridge hidden in the trees haha.

Looks like their vegetables are going well, too.

I agree, especially the little ones! :)

Bella is pretty awesome. It's funny, I was planning on having Bryan do all the badge building and on having Bella do child care and some light gardening, but the roles are pretty well reversed. I think it's because pregnancy tanks motives so badly that Bella can't focus on the child care and teaching skills, but Bryan can. They'll get the badges one way or another eventually.

I love the cellar fridge, but it doesn't do bottles, so I thought of turning the fridge to the wall like you do in an apocalypse.

The vegetables are doing pretty well considering how many of them there are and how few hands there are to do the work. Nothing has died, but not everything will be sparkly.

Eeep! How long has this been here?

Bryan is not too smart, just as well little Clarence is.

How large is your 'house'? I'd love a picture.

Yes the fridge is fine.

Since Sunday morning here in the States, so a bit less than 24 hours.

Yes, Bryan's character on this sitcom is the "loveable idiot" character. Both Clarance and Bella are there to keep him in line, though, which is great.

I realized after I posted this that I forgot to take a picture of the lot. I will do that this week (or try to) and will post it. Do you want a PM when it goes up? :)

I'm glad the fridge is OK. I don't want to break any more rules than I have to.

Thanks for a fun challenge! And thanks for reading and commenting, too! :D

Wow, this looks like an ambitious challenge! Now I see why it's on the six-year, long-term Simming plan. This looks like so much fun to play, though! I love the dynamic between Bella and Bryan -- it reminds me of Mark Twain's "Diary of Adam and Eve." :)

It *is* pretty ambitious, but I'm already progressing faster than I thought I would. But yes, this is definitely a six-year-plan objective, in part because I play so slowly! It is lots of fun to play, though -- I'm really enjoying it.

The dynamic isn't consciously an homage to Twain, but I went through a phase when I read all his stuff (including collected letters and such) so I wouldn't be surprised if there was an influence. Consciously, I was trying for that sitcom dynamic. You know, there's the dumb one and the smart one and the one who's only interested in woohoo and the pretty one and the weird one... Bryan is the dumb one. Their dialog is a lot of fun to write, especially the "Can we eat it?" parts.
