I'm currently going through my flist and the communities I follow and trying to get some order in them - and removing people that hasn't updated since 2012 or earlier. It's something I should have done a long time ago, but I haven't really wanted to do so. Some of these blogs belong(ed) to people I've known since I started using the Internet for ( Read more... )

Organizing things a little here in LJ feels good, doesn't it? I also had communities in here that I was a member of since ages ago and that I was never looking at anymore. As you say it's something that is quiet sad, specially because at some point this used to be a really active place, but I guess that some people have moved away and there's no way to get that back again :(

Tbh I don't really feel anything about the communities - I've never really been active in any of them for a longer period of time, and I haven't looked at any of them in over a year. But it did make me sad to see how many icon comms weren't active anymore :(

I wouldn't say this feels good - but it's necessary. If I actually want to get more active on LJ again, well, I'll need to have an idea about which places are active and relevant for me, so there's that :)

I've recently considered deleting some of my LJ friends who haven't updated in a really long time, too, and I haven't just in case they come back. I'm glad you finally cleaned out your f-list, though.

Well, I have it like - if they DO come back, then they'll still have me added and can easily contact me, so if they want to get back in touch it's not... that hard :) But yeah, I totally get why you haven't done it yet. It's not fun. But - it is worth it.
