It's no wonder the left-wing is in crisis, even though the Red-Green Alliance (Enhedslisten) is incredible popular at the moment. The left-wing project has lost its energy, its passion, its drama. Trust me, you do not want drama or theater in your politics -- otherwise, it'll turn into exactly like what we have here in the U.S. (Or on Tumblr, for that matter. :PPP) The very fact that politics directly affects people's lives should be a reason for level-headedness and civility; while passion can be very useful, it only causes more problems than solves them, human nature being what it is. I don't trust political demonstrations and grandstanding these days (in the West, anyway) not to turn into masturbatory noisefests like Occupy Wall Street. >_>;

What you see in the US isn't drama - it's childish behaviour. Drama is daring to not just create conflicts, but also to tackle conflicts, to handle them, to frame them - it's daring to create or to formulate tension. And we have both childish behaviour and drama in Danish politics - but it's on the right wing. Especially the neo-liberals and the nationalists have been really good at creating drama. Recently we have had some discussions about tax-evasions - something which has a history of being seen as anti-social and egocentric to us, yet the neo-liberals have dared to claim these people "are fighting against an unfair system", to try to make this into a good thing, into rebels. We don't see this on the left anymore.
Considering that the left-wing project is to deconstruct our system and create a new one, there is tension in the interaction between the left-wing and the system, but no one dares to formulate it, to express it. The left-wing project has been from day one about revolution, but this idea is slowly - but surely - being ( ... )
