the start of something

It's a gorgeous day in Austin. Cool, sunny, and Friday. It's one of those days when you feel so optimistic about your life and its possibilities, just by the suggestiveness of the weather. Maybe it's also because I'm listening to Voxtrot, whose show is 15 long days away. I still love our Voxtrot issue from The Bearchat last year ( Read more... )

You know, I think Shakespeare is something you start to like as you get older. I plan to take a course (ENGL 211 - Shakespeare) here in the near future~

it snowed yesterday up here in East Lansing. craziness.

i've been reading a lot of Shakespeare lately, and it is growing on me a bit. we'll be starting "Henry IV" in one of my English classes in a couple of weeks, just in time for the Stratford Festival of Canada's visit to MSU. some of the actors are coming to my class to discuss and perform. exciting!

I finally figured out how to set up the fold-away-desk in the auditorium where my chemistry class meets without touching the leg of the guy who sits next to me.

haha. good to hear you're doing well and looking forward to seeing you again!

♥&austin rhymes with boston

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ESIN!!!!!!!!!!!! You're SO OLD!!!! hehehehe. I'm glad the weather was so accomodating right before your birthday (but mad at it for being mean to you ON your birthday! Darn weather!!!) and that you like Shakespeare more now. I really don't like his work yet, or the fact that his name is so difficult to spell. It's like a mixture between what you would expect it to look like and not so you can't tell yourself to just do the opposite of what you would expect bc that's wrong but you can't tell yourself to do the same either bc that's wrong too! Que confusing! I think if your heart is leading you towards learning Turkish, I think you should listen to it. Take the Pocahontas path. Idk, to me, every brave decision is a Pocahontas path. But really, if your inner being is leading you in that direction, if it feels right...we all have to make decisions that other people don't agree with in order to make ourselves the best we can be. Trust yourself. You're so smart and so wonderful. Your heart will lead you in the right direction ( ... )

Thanks so much Alyson!! I know, I'm quite old now, and not nearly as dignified as I thought I might be by 19. I hope everything's going well - it was so good to speak to you on the phone last week.
