I have buckled to peer pressure and joined Facebook. In the time it took from automatically listing everyone I've ever emailed who is also on Facebook, letting me choose which ones I want to invite to be my "Friend," and updating a bare-bones profile, I already have four "Friends" confirmed, only two of whom are also on Livejournal and only one of ( Read more... )

And I found you, but when I click "Add to Friends" the page freezes. I'll try again soon. Or send me an invitation.

I am liberty delavega. You can friend me on Facebook if you like. Actually I hate FB. I just keep an account because you never know when you'll run into someone you have not seen in years (like my LJ friend watra)

Others could surely answer more completely that myself, as I am a new convert. But you get your little profile with your real name and a picture to upload, and people can only see your profile if you mutually agree to be "Friends," and you can leave each other messages. The point, I think, is a way of contacting people you haven't thought about in at least five years. That and peer pressure. I did a search for people who graduated from my high school in my year, and All of them are there. Starting with the friends I stopped hearing from regularly when they stopped updating Livejournal.

I went with Facebook over Myspace. The redundancy of *all* of them is unnerving. But apparently Facebook is where all my LJ friends that vanished have gone. I still LJ is more useful for actually knowing what's going on with people.
