flist friday: love and relationships

Nov 04, 2016 13:26

I'm not exactly having the greatest day today.

It actually started right.... I woke up very happy, had breakfast with Eric and brought him to work. On our way there we talked and I started realizing: tomorrow morning will be the last morning I drive him to work for a long time! I came back home, and I worked on some projects, when he wrote me a ( Read more... )

Would you relocate for Love?
Depends on the person. If this person is a Han Solo I definitely would if not no.

Have you ever been in a lond distance relationship, or would you consider it?
Does with friends count? Honestly Im perfectly content with no boyfriend or girlfriend. Love is a stressor I dont need at the moment.

Do you think absence makes the heart grow fonder or forgetful?
Well I have ADHD so I forget alot of things XD.

LOL... For Han Solo we both would move in a different Galaxy xD

I have a lot of good friends that live very far... Some shattered around Italy and other around Europe... People I've been friend for more than 10 years now... We always go on weird holidays together and one of them I met on the internet thanks to Doctor Who,... But I think with freinds it's different... There is less need to be together all the time... But it's nice to be able to see them often... Eric and I live together,.. it's different... I don't mind not seeing my family for a while, but Eric is different! I'm used to have him around all the time...

Sorry for your condition... But it can be useful sometimes! :D

I move around a lot, relocation has never been a big deal for me. I would relocate even for much smaller things than love. Catching a plane at no notice just because I want to get that kebab from that particular corner place two hours flight away is not that unusual for me.

No and no.

To a certain extent it does make the heart grow a bit fonder but after that it makes it grow forgetful. I think that there is a sweet spot with this.

I totally agree... I love traveling around as well and I think that I was lucky enough that I didn't have to relocate into another Country right away... I moved into a boat and then into a storage unit LOL!

The kebab story reminds me of a former employer of Eric that loved an Ice Cream that was made in Up State New York and he had an helicopter that was used principally to go buy this icecream and bring it to the house! xD (I actually have a lot of icecream stories about my former boss too... What about rich people and icecream? LOL)

You are right, maybe at first you feel the absence pf the person and you tend to remember all the good things and then it starts to fade away...

I know how you feel.

Luke leaves every couple of weeks for work, to go across the state. It sucks, it's hard. But we talk and text every day, so it's not as bad as it could be.

I know :( but, as Eric said last night when I dropped him off - he feels my love and he's "happy" we both feel so sad when we have to be apart, because it means we are each other's world! <3 He's such a sweet guy!

For now we can text, but not talk because the internet on the boat is crap. When he'll be in Florida (in 15 days) we'll be able to talk <3 but then he'll leave for the Bahamas on a guest trip and there the boat cuts off the internet for the crew! That's going to be hard! Not knowing if he's okay... :'(

I hope the time will pass quickly for you =/

I relocated for love too. It was really hard, but we made it!

Thank you!

Where were you living and where did you move (I'm like a curious monkey xD)? I like love stories <3

Well, we were both from the same place (Alabama), but he joined the Marines right after I started college the first time. I moved to North Carolina to be with him.

My story is a little different, because we knew each other for 3 years & got married before I moved. But I still left everything I'd ever known behind!

I’m sorry you two got less time together. That sucks! I hope you had a good dinner and got to enjoy the time you did get.

"Would you relocate for love? "

I doubt it. Certainly not countries. I am very much rooted and comfortable where I am. This is where my life is. I like it here and want to continue to settle deeper roots here with work when school is all done. And hopefully at some point my own place to live. Getting off topic here, moving on!

"Have you ever been in a long-distance relationship, or would you consider it?"

I’ve never been in a relationship to begin with and I consider the chances of me being in one is slim, and I am not sure a long-distance relationship would be something would want.

"Do you think absence makes the heart grow fonder or forgetful?"

Both, but if the relationships is good and it works for both I think grow fonder has more weight.

We had a great evening together! Thank you! We did all we wanted to do and he trimmed the little Christmas Tree I bought for him! He was so happy!

I'm so glad you are happy where you are! That's a beautiful thing! <3 I understand the need to settle down, I feel it too constantly, because my life relocated but I keep traveling and I don't have a home in the US... It's like I'm still moving xD

I think it also depends on how long this period of absence is going to be... And how often it happens... Thankfully we now have ways to be close to the people who live far away from us! The internet was such a great invention! <3
