Hi there! I've been kind of browsing your tidbits and stuff for a bit and didn't log in last time I posted, so I thought I'd say a non-anonymous hello.

Those are very interesting Q&A bits! I don't recall the ones about Japan being friends with Romano either, so that's definitely some sort of news.

I've seen the "East german" thing mentioned on 2ch before, and I thought it could have been the Christmas '07 event but it does sound like it's a much different thing. He did do a sequel to it that he deleted, though the images are still on his server (but the actual pages are gone). So maybe from there? Hmm.

There are Japanese fan-run wikis that contain some old diary excerpts and hidden pictures, but yet there are still many things that seem to be "lost" too! It seems Himaruya had quite the number of blogs/diaries.

A new character in a box? That sounds pretty mysterious indeed. I wonder what nation they may be (I'd love it if Portugal appeared in the series soon). Thanks again for sharing these obscure bits of knowledge too :)

Wow, you can understand Japanese enough to navigate 2ch?, that's amazing! Yeah, it's very likely to be '07's one, but since I haven't seen any of the real text, I can't tell anything. Also these days my provider is being banned, so I can't even comment on 2ch for the moment *sigh*

Himaruya has run his site for quite a long time. Besides, he was very talkative in the earlier years.

What the character says doesn't apply to the characters who have appeared in Hetalia so far. It's likely that s/he is one of the former republics of the Soviet Union.
Thank you, too, because I rarely have the courage to post my translation and such in the comm, since I always think "there must be better translation!", haha.

I'm taking baby-steps with my Japanese, I'm not too good with it but I can get by in navigating there. Sometimes if something is particularly confusing, I try and run it through Excite to get the gist.

Yeah, Kitayume's been around since March '03 or so, right? And Hetalia wasn't even the big title there in the early years. It seems he deleted a lot of stuff related to his other two series, which is a shame since I'm curious about them.

Another SSR character could be interesting. There were two unidentified ones that appeared in vol.2, but they were drawn so scribbly and had no real features. There's quite a few options for its identity too...
