Hi there! Your journal's provided such interesting information on Japan and Hetalia, and these notes are very handy too, for fans that want to know of rare tidbits.
I've heard that Himaruya's mentioned stuff about a Castile character, and Czechoslovakia. Would you happen to have heard anything that he's said about them in old notes?
Oh hello. I didn't know whether all of them had already been translated on Hetalia-related communities or not, so I just wrote them on my journal. I'm glad if I gave you any new information ^_^
Regarding Castile, Himaruya did say it exists as a character in the Hetalia world and that's all he said about it. But we J-fans suspect he forgot about that, because afterward he drew a sketch of baby!Spain saying "I'll kick them out of here!" and it seems to imply Reconquista. But still we J-fans think if Castile exists, then why not Aragon? Also he mentioned Francia, but he never said it exists in the Hetalia.
About Czechoslovakia, I checked hetalia and I found notes about it were not translated. There he says "the name Czech itself sounds like a little girl. But it with Slovakia sounds sturdy", "it could be a musician-ish looking person", "but a Czechoslovakian of my acquaintance is a ladies' man and was sending many love mails to girls in my class." And sorry, I don't know any other notes about Czechoslovakia in his old blog ^^;
Thank you for an interesting comment. Personally I never imagined Ireland to be a female character before knowing Himaruya had mentioned it. But oh well, nobody can't tell he won't change his mind.
Out of interest, what makes you feel Wales should be female? I've always thought of Wales as a male-type country, what with our rugby and that. But I guess we're also just a little obsessed with singing and poetry, haha. I don't understand the logics between Ireland being a girl either, though.
It'd be awesome if Ireland was a girl but I will be supremely disappointed if once again, he introduces another female character that sucks.
Ireland has an incredible history and she is certainly no slouch. Himaruya's female characters are all passive. It would be insulting for her to be so passive.
Thanks for your comment! Personally I don't consider all the girls in Hetalia to be so passive, especially Hungary and Belarus, but I think I kind of get what you meant somewhat. Yeah, though I don't really know about Irish history very well, but Ireland can't really be passive.
I agree. I can see the point too, but Seychelles, Hungary, Taiwan, and Belarus definitely aren't pushovers. At least not the characters. I don't know much about the nations.
Hungary and Belarus spend all their time obsessing about men. They live to serve Austria and Russia. It's pathetic. So you might say they're "tough" but they're really only defining themselves by the men they are obsessed with.
England's eyebrows are trimmed (even if it doesn't seem so). I so need a pic of what they look like untrimmed. XD
Sweden is a real one (Himaruya means, um, gay). But, please feel relieved, he never ever reacts to anyone but Finland in that way. I-is that in the link you provided? omg where where where where
I found a link to the wiki that mentions it... but it has no source link. I'm always one to doubt hearsay though, especially on the internet. idk, without a source link to back it up this info is forever stuck as fanon in my mind. ^^;

Unfortunately, no. It doesn't seem to have been web-archived. But it's well-known and confirmed to be true in the j-fandom ^^b
