Michelle Bachman's home district would rather let gay children kill themselves than allow anyone to help them in the slightest way.

An informative, if depressing, piece.

If a het version of Grndr manages to work at all (let alone be anywhere near as successful) I will be amazed.

There are indeed still significant differences between male and female sexuality.

Yepperoni. The demand for anonymous hookups is way more strong amongst men than women. For gay men, the biggest problem was the relative scarcity and difficulty of meeting other gay men. Grndr did a great job of fixing that because it was like gaydar on steroids.

Whereas trying to make a het version of that is solving a problem that doesn't exist. Women who want to hook up already have their needs adequately met - the bar and nightclub scene gives them a stage to peacock on and try to score the best man they can. They don't need an app like Grndr to help them do that.

Lots of str8 guys are pretty clueless about how the sexual marketplace works, so they're still going to buy "Hetdr" and bitch about it being a sausage fest full of attention seeking teases. So it'll probably make the developers a bit of money before fizzling out.
