the Freedome of Speech and Debates or Proceedings in Parlyament ought not to be impeached or questioned in any Court or Place out of Parlyament.

Just occasionally, I entirely agree with you. This is precisely why I was so distressed when, under the guise of anti-terrorism legislation, Australia and various other countries dispensed with the notion of habeas corpus - 800 years of giving people the right not to be held indefinately without charge. We still haven't got it back.

It was obvious to me that what was going on was a "return to the C16th". That it did not matter what the political complexion of the Governments in question were, they all bought into it just shows that something deep was going on.
