“Demonstrators in UK demonstrating over higher education cuts abuse the NUS leader for being Jewish.”

Oh dear. That doesn't sound good. You mean there is a sweeping wave of anti-Semitism in the UK student protests? I'd better have a look.

Hey, it's from the Daily Mail! That newspaper known for having once been explicitly and literally fascist, and not quite as bigoted, xenophobic and homophobic as the (BNP-supporting) Daily Express. But still. The subline is pretty drastic: “Student union leader pulls out of speaking at fees rally after protesters hurl anti Jewish abuse at him”. Wow. That's even worse.

That's horrible. All those anti-semites, all those ... how many? bigots and monsters and Leftists (but I repeat myself). That would have to be described in some detail in the article.

One photographer reported chants of ‘Tory Jew scum’ directed at Mr Porter, ...

That's it? The word of one photographer?

I wonder if there's footage? I wonder if there's an alternative and more believable explanation?Nah. Who cares if it's ( ... )

Well, I'm certainly relieved. I was afraid that there was a wave of anti-Semitism in Britain, but if Lorenzo cited a source you don't like, that makes the incident stop existing, right? No Ontological Inertia?

No, more that the ‘wave of anti-semitism’ in Britain you keep citing is based mostly on ‘evidence’ of this calibre.

And where there is evidence of anti-semitism, it is congruent with a wave of anti-muslim/anti-pakistani/anti-everything-not-perceived-as-‘British’. You know: the wholesome BNP and their family-friendly platform.

Not so much left-wing students.

Reading about the various youth agitiation in north africa/south Europe, makes me describe my job with the Ministry of Youth Development as "preventing Tunisia in New Zealand".
