The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a map and warning about Cyclone Yasi:
SEVERE TC YASI IS A LARGE AND VERY POWERFUL TROPICAL CYCLONE AND POSES AN EXTREMELY SERIOUS THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY WITHIN THE WARNING AREA, ESPECIALLY BETWEEN CAIRNS AND TOWNSVILLE

I interpreted that statement as being the PR people's translation of the forecasters' original statement “... HOLY F*&K!”

At least the reports so far are of massive property damage but no lives lost. Yet. Of course, they still have to get out and properly inspect the wreckage...
