Keating always seem to forget about how Soeharto killed all those East Timores...and all those communiststs. Obviously doesn't seem to fit into his broad picture of Soeharto, I guess.

The awkward thing is that Keating has a point: Suharto did make Australia's strategic environment a lot more friendly. But, as you say, there is a lot more to his legacy.
