Sydney after-shocks 3 (status and language)

After the recent troubles, many NSW beaches are locked down and declared no-go areas. This strikes me as a dubious tactic. It surely would be better to reclaim the beaches as places of civility. Yes. Making the citizenry conform to what is convenient to the police rather than the police ensuring that the citizenry can go about their daily lives.

Worse: making the policing conform to political expediency, rather than to either police procedure or public normalcy.
