Okay, of course everyone hates the villains. We're supposed to. Umbridge, Volypants, the Lestranges, The Carrows...occasionally a Malfoy or two...

So I don't feel like I need to answer those. We all hate them for the most part.

Who do I hate that isn't necessarily villainous?

SNAPE

Oh, Snape is such a puzzle for me. I don't think he's a good person, but I think he's a fascinating character study...like the flip side of what could have happened had Harry chosen Slytherin instead of Gryffindor. His whole arc embodies my two favorite themes from the HP series...choice and love.

But huge word on the physical and emotional abuse of Harry vis-à-vis Petunia. Disgusting.

I never could understand why she'd do this crap to her own nephew. I've felt anger, jealousy, envy, and other strong emotions towards my own sister, but if she and her husband died, I'd never treat my nephew like some piece of crap just because my sister got things I didn't.

Petunia was a very childish person in my eyes. It wasn't baby Harry's fault his mother was a witch and got to go to a 'fancy' school.

Snape has always been an immature asshole. It didn't help his own father was a piece of shit to him and his mother, but just because he wanted to shag the daylights out of Lily, doesn't mean he should have treated Harry so badly. I found there was a lot of projected hatred on others when the haters hated someone else.
