Fun stuff. My bike seat got stolen last night, leaving me without any transportation except my feet (which hurt now.) I found out I am only allowed one suitcase on the flight to TN, which is a problem since I have two--I'm going home with my parents straight from TN ( Read more... )

Wow, what weirdass airline only allows you one suit case?

It's a chartered flight. Apparently they already did the calculation for how much fuel would be needed based on one 30 lb bag per person, and it's too late to change it. (Apparently also this is my fault for not saying anything about having an extra bag until today, even though I was not told until yesterday afternoon that I was in fact allowed to go home with my parents--so how could I have?)

That's scary, if they're controlling the fuel that tightly.

Yes. I'm not sure how much of it is that they actually are controlling it that tightly, and how much of it is just the coaches being, um, how to put this tactfully...stern, about the whole thing.

Oh well, I sure won't be risking anyone's lives by bringing an extra suitcase.

Yeah. Well, the bike was locked with one of those U-locks, so it'd have been tough to steal the whole thing. Not so tough to lift the seat though.

Bike thievery runs rampant around here (huge college campus and all) so I shouldn't have been surprised. Apparently since I left the bike for three hours someone decided it was fair game.
