Randomness while I wait for lunch

A couple of nights ago, Angie and I tested out our NYCC costumes (what we had). Overall, they look pretty decent. My jacket is currently super wrinkled, probably from being shipped from China. So I'm trying the "put it in the bathroom when you shower" method of unwrinkling it since I'm afraid to iron it because its really weird materials. If it ( Read more... )

I also got that accessibility lock thing you were talking about yesterday. But don't know if that's the iPhone or the carrier. Why are things so stooopid.

Yeah, it seemed so random and stupid. Like what if I needed to use my phone for some program and I didn't have a signal and I couldn't verify or whatever.

Damn them all!

Word! I needed to use the camera because something that felt huge had flew into my eyeball. But when I whipped out my phone, it made me guess my Apple password and I can't do anything else with my phone until I guessed correctly. It distracted me enough that whatever went into my eye eventually got sucked in/got out and I didn't need the camera anymore. But, what the hell?

Lots of people at lunch were also very down on the update so I'll definitely hold off on updating.

I can't cope with Apple anymore. I defected to linux and android a few years ago which has worked well for me. The new windows sucks but at least I only have to deal with it when I have to run certain stats programs. It's funny how EVERYONE has access to a computer these days, yet technical literacy seems to be much lower than it used to be. I think it's due to this gradual dumbing down of UI's that you speak of.

Using Linux is super cool. I wish I could do that, lol.

Yeah, the popularity of Apple-style interfaces really made other programs get dumber. And people just want out of the box, plug and play programs which you can't do anything with. So it is a vicious cycle.

I'm personally in good health... except for my damn lungs. :P

My lungs, not so good, heh.

Even my pancreas is standing up to the beating that the steroid that helps my lungs usually gives it (I only managed a 5.8 A1C in spite of ending one prednisone burst August 25th and having to restart September 1st).

So basically if the Reps didn't pick such a loser, they'd probably win, and possibly easily. Freakin' party.

That's true for the Dems as well, of course. I see a lot of the same anxiety on my FB feed because I've got mostly lefties in my friends and family. They should lay the blame squarely on the shoulders of their own DNC, who deliberately derailed Bernie's campaign in favor of Hillary. He's consistently polled higher than both candidates. But Hillary is royalty, and she waited her turn...

Yeah, I think this election really is showcasing how poor our political system is. Basically no one likes either person who'll most likely be the next president. It really is the lesser of two evils approach.

Also, the primary system is so stupid. To do well in the primaries, you have to appeal to the extremes of the party but to do well in the general election, you need to pretty much be the opposite and appeal to moderates and undecided.
