Today we had a weigh-in at work for our annual weight off contest. The start weight was posted last week and I worked my ass off to get this thing kicking in a big way. So after all the work I found out I have lost 7 pounds the first week  - WOOHOO!

Well, this week is going to be extremely full. Many may not know that I work an odd schedule, Saturday through Tuesday and off Wednesday through Friday. I got to the office Saturday morning to see an email letting me know that I am needed to work 4 hrs on each of my days off to train a new back-up for my job. Oh Joy...

I have not really posted yet about diabetes and how it affects my life, so here goes.

I have had a Type 2 diabetes diagnosis since April of 1994 and it has been an up and down battle ever since - mostly down the last few years when my weight went back up and topped out at near 360 pounds last Autumn. I have been working on it since Christmas though ( Read more... )

Well, it is cooking day here. I stumbled on a sale for buy one/get one free packs of chicken breasts at the supermarket yesterday and wound up with 4 packs (12 breasts total) for about $14. The frugal Scotsman in me was in total joy over that one ( Read more... )
