Job-hunting question!

Sep 27, 2005 14:57

I just found a posting for a job that really intrigues me.

It's a bookkeeping position with a funky used bookstore in the city -- actually, I think they carry new *and* used stuff.

Question:

Applying in person.

A way to stand out from the pack?

OR

Pushy and desperate?

as long as you are confident, you won't look pushy and desperate. If you wear a funny hat, you will really stand out from the pack.

Alas, I don't have a funny hat.

However, my hair is always funny. Will that do?

That's a good point.

I wish I knew this bookstore better, well enough to be a regular. Unfortunately, I've only been there once -- but I liked it!

Pushy and desperate? Nay! More like "self-directed" and "interested in the possibilities." You'll have an invisible sign on your forehead saying, "Hire me."

inishglora had recommended "Animal Dreams" -- have you read it?
