Most importantly, apetslife has an excellent and helpful post about the most recent malware/trojan/virus infections and how to protect your computer/deal with the infection. As someone who is completely idiotic about such things, I am eternally grateful for people like Pet for providing step-by-step explanations on how to deal with it

I am seriously considering Wincon as we discussed, especially now I know the hotel is near downtown so I can see some of the city too. I just need to check out how much the flights are going to set me back and if I can find a roomie to split the hotel costs

We always have roommate matching posts closer to the Con itself, so that's probably not a worry. I will say that the hotel is NOT close to downtown, though. However, there are ways to get into the city proper.

We have already discussed my reservations and that they are most likely nonsense. I will reevaluate once my uterus is less spastic. Especially since I technically wouldn't have to lay out dinero for the hotel. I could just stay with the folks...

IIRC, the deadline is pretty far out, so there are no worries there.

I have already paid for my registration I am SO ECSTATIC. As it gets closer I need to figure out which is the best airport and when I should arrive/leave, etc., etc., but I have already put in my vacation time for this CRAZINESS and my costume makeup is complete (wigs, paint, prosthetics) for the dance thing, I need only get myself the uniform and boots! I dunno if you saw my Halloween pictures, but I LIKE COSTUMES.

I'm supposed to room with raggedann and silvershinigami thus far, but I think we'll be looking for one more person as the time gets closer (though Rachel did already mention something to me about someone else at... sometime. I think. XD)

Both airports are about equidistant from the hotel and we have arranged a shuttle service to grab people from both.

I think there should be info forthcoming (um, at some point) about airports and shuttles and other logistical things. I think I'm going to take the entire week off for it this year. Last year I tried to just do the weekend and it was waaaaaaaay too short. I was sad when I had to leave.
