I hate headers. Am far too braindead at the moment. Here is some Dean-centric genfic. It is spoilery through the end of S4. Exactly 1,000 words, which I find absurdly pleasing for some reason.
ETA: Header
Title: You Stood Witness To Yourself
Genre: Gen
Spoilers: "Lucifer Rising"
Warnings: None
Summary: Die young and leave a pretty corpse.

The last shred of morality you clung to, even then, was that you wouldn't taint him by allowing yourself the comfort of his name on your tongue. Not as that thing.
I can't even really be coherent except to say that I love this. It's so very Dean in the best of ways.
Rather, Castiel was a good soldier until you tainted him, too.
Just hurts my heart. But so, so very true.
He ran away from you. Did it deliberately and you were ready to strangle him right up until you found him, eyes red and wet with snot running out of his nose and you just picked him up. Let him cry against your shoulder and instead of yelling at him you rubbed his back and told him it was okay, cursed yourself up and down for letting him get away in the first place.
THIS! SAMANDDEAN! *incoherent burble*
But really, I love this. Love. I have a weakness for Emo!Dean that knows no bounds.

Oh, honey!
So you do pray, to Sam for forgiveness, to Castiel for strength. And you think, "Bring it on, bitch."
It's funny what goes through your head when you're at ground zero for the end of the world.
Great ending.
I love the Dean-voice throughout all of this. As a character study, it feels spot-on. (AKA: Dean, your psyche is all messed up. Why don't you go turn into a kitten for a week, or a unicorn!, that would help you with warm fuzzies.)

I do try and add them eventually, if not to the original post, than at least to my sticky post of fic.

I know! It's like they are some sort of magical mental energy-draining thing! When I go to rec stories that don't have headers (so I can't simply C&P them), it's amazing how much time I spend sort-of-not-really working on the headers :(
And once I'm done with that, I spend time sort of thinking about how to say coherently how the story is awesome. Which is always so difficult. Hmm, perhaps I should look into a different career than 'reccer'.
I finally made a sticky post of my fanwork, and to my chagrin I'm really not-so-good at making headers myself *facepalm*
