It's a type of bean that grows on trees in Central America. They're really bitter at first but if you use them to make chocolate it's really good.

Oh I guess you're from before the Americas were discovered? Someone mentioned the time differences.

[She tries to explain it in a way that will overcome the language barrier. As she talks she starts sketching on a small sheet of paper.]

Central America is basically a land that connects North America to South America. The Americas are to the west of Europe and where you came from, on the other side of the ocean.

[She holds up a rough drawing of the continents of the world.]

See? This is Europe. [Pointing to the basic shape of Europe with a stick figure person on it.] And this is Central america where cocoa trees grow. [Pointing to Central America with a tree on it]
