( the communicator shows hungary crookedly: hair in a ponytail, men's clothing, bow and sword. she looks at the device with clearly no idea what it is, speaking in hungarian. )

Huh, now it's making a light.

( she tries shaking it, then looks around her. ) Hé! Whose city is this?

Wo bin ich? Uh, ecquis adest? …Merhaba?

( still in hungarian, obviously; she whips around in the direction of the communicator, and seems to be considering drawing her sword on it. ) NOW IT'S MAKING NOISES!

( she draws her sword. it is not very fancy or shiny, because she clearly uses it a lot. starts to edge closer to the communicator, ready to strike at the first movement… )

Bocsánat. ( the boy (?) looks kind of lost, though. an object is complaining about pain? can objects feel pain? this is too weird… )

[staaare. wait he remembers that face.]

Ungheria!

[and then in very, very terrible Hungarian; actually I'm not even sure if this is real Hungarian or something he made up when he should have been studying]

Is Hungary okay?

( by now she's getting used to the voices coming from the box, but it still startles her to hear one all at once. let alone someone calling her by name. and speaking godawful hungarian.

needless to say, she does not recognize the voice at all. in hungarian: ) How many people are in this box?

[he's trying, at least

but yeah, still in godawful Hungarian:] Box? There isn't a box! It's a... uh... [short-circut; back to Italian] communicator!

( so, fun fact. hungary, being the good catholic former crusader that she is, speaks pretty good latin. and italy for ages was like "we're totally speaking latin!" even though the rest of europe was like "no, it's totally a different language called italian." so even though she only vaguely knows italy, she can speak a bit of italian/latin/whatever even.

probably a little better than italy's hungarian, anyway. so in a hodgepodge of both languages: ) What's that even mean?

Are you alright? You shouldn't throw the communicator like that.

I… cannot speak English. ( she isn't quite sure how to say "i never knew how", not in french at least, so she just repeats herself hopelessly. )
