Lord Stark’s Southron wife seemed happy enough, but Jorah had nothing to give that could compare to Winterfell. Not even sons and daughters. Lady Catelyn had borne three in as many years as he and Lynesse had been wed, and still - nothing.

OH MY GOD MY CRIIIIIIIIES.

Perhaps he would see what a fool could find in the oldest and largest of the Free Cities.

This is sooo good, and such a good missing moment in Jorah's life. Why is there not more Jorah-before-Dany fic? I mean, it's depressing as hell, but rich for fic. And I rather love him being all badass and alone with his manpain.

I thought about the parallel between Cat and Lynesse and realized Cat grew to love the North because her kids are wolves...and Lynesse never had any kids. SADNESS.

The missing moment WAS Cassie's idea. But yes, there should be more pre-series Jorah fic.

The worst thing of all, the thing that haunted him most, was the knowledge that he would have done it all again, would have given up everything for love no matter the cost. Jorah Mormont was truly a fool, and always would be.

This is so good! I second Lisa; there should be so much more pre-Dany Jorah fic out there. Think of all the manpain we're missing out on!
