BOO!
The past few months has found me with what amounts to several chattering monkeys on my back,.. preempting my normal leisurely work flow, it has pretty much curbed my on-line time and creative energy and drive,..they have been the work mandated to this place, some personal turmoil and staffing problems with a trust i'm involved ,.... added to that the responsibilities of overseeing a couple of ongoing projects,.... the major one was locating a future place for my studio to reside, since this space is proving ever more indisposed to working
That has happened finally, as often seems the case my luck is salted with happenstance, while we (this new place like where I am now, will be an arrangement of the trust to which I belong) have been looking at listings few held much promise to fill the wish list, the new “farm” does
in looking at a tract of land that used to be part of one of the old farming expanses that is slowly turning into building developments the “farm” itself caught our eye it wasn't listed and it didn't seem deserted even thoug it also seemed rarely visited, on a hunch I found out the owners name and called to see if there might be a chance that they might entertain an offer on the place,.they tentatively said they might,. after looking at it, it has been a looming presence in my mind with it's potential (the rest of the trust is excited as well)
we've come to terms today,..
In many ways, even though it requires a lot of work it will be a small chunk of heaven for me, it's on a large tract of land close to several; larger towns but out enough to be rural the house is a 7 room cape that requires some work to be livable but not much,.. it also has a large 50x50 barn that is in great shape that will be transformed to studio space because it's out of town I can resume doing some of the things that were impossible in town (fire codes) my blacksmithing and pottery work to name a couple will again be possible.
Of course this has only added more to my plate but I can see a resolution to much of the stuff that has been up in the air,..my workload seems massive till the end of august, but I am working through the tasks and am missing the leisure time I normally enjoy , as is expected the world on-line has moved forward in my absence, seems i've gotten some kind of promotion,..(i think “fink” is a step up from curmudgeon,..;)) and people are busy doing their thing, as expected,..i haven't died nor am I “gone” from the intrawebs,... simply busy with the real world,.. starting to eat stuff from the garden, and making slow (but ever more necessary) progress in sorting out my life,.. the work here is winding to a close and I see progress in many of the tasks I have going,.. so I will be back .. sooner than later,..
