Fulfilling a Prophecy

I am totally new to LJ, so if I have done this wrong, or broken the etiquette or stepped on the cracks, please let me know.  I promise I will learn quickly.  This story popped into my head after listening to the commentary on LWW that explained that the powers that be had named Mrs Pevensie, Helen.  There is a lot of Narnian history in that name...

"No need to apologise. Disturbances are the spice of life. Without them, we should all be boring old sots, and one must resist being boring at all costs. Nothing interesting about being boring. Adventures start with a disturbances, my dear, so should be welcomed by all right thinking people."

"Humph. Who do you think owns the house? Not the Macready, that's for sure. Don't tell her I called her that. It's a secret."

Oh, man. I love how you've written the Professor. He's absolutely perfect!

Anyway, this is really great, I loved it! I've never seen a story like this before, so that's very refreshing.

Welcome to LJ!

Thanks! I'm really nervous about doing this, so your kindness is marvellous. I'm glad you liked the story - there aren't enough stories about the Professor, a fact I am trying to resolve :) He is quirky and interesting.

PS - love the pic (icon? is that the right word). Have a white rat and two piebald sisters that would probably destroy teddy in short order and love doing it. hehe, getting distracted now.

Haha, yeah, icon is the right word. :D I've never had a rat myself, (only hamsters), but this little guy was too cute to pass up.

He made me smile so much. The bright eyes are full of mischief. I'd like to see the after shot, when the little bear has been chewed to a million pieces and used to line his nest.

I loved it, but maybe you should try to introduce things more slowly. The professor was great, definitely, and one last thing - maybe introducing the Pevensie's a little later? Gtreat though.

P.S. Try my FanFics in narnia_fiction! =D

Wow. Thanks. I'm glad you liked the professor, as I was surprised how much fun he was to write.

Funny about your suggestion - that was how the story was originally written, then I went and changed it. That'll teach me :)

I am going to use tomorrow to get around to reading and replying to lots and lots of fic. I got roped into helping the brownie (?girl scout) party and now my head hurts from too many small girls on sugar highs.

I really enjoyed this! Like the others, I was really charmed by your Professor. :-)

One thing, though -- didn't Frank and Helen become King and Queen of Narnia? If so, why would they go back to England to raise the children?

Thanks.

You are right, Frank and Helen did stay in Narnia - I should have made it clearer that it was just a coincidence that Mr and Mrs Pevensie are called that. If you believe in coincidences...

This is brilliant. You've captured the voice of the Professor perfectly - he's rather like Dumbledore, isn't he, in that the dotty-old-man act is a cover for a shrewd mind.

If you don't mind, I'd like to pimp this around to my (tiny) friendslist.
