Thank you! Teague was a cipher at first, until I placed him in his Hall, and then he came along quite nicely.

Bravo! Excellent character/relationship study, told with an economy of words Hemmingway might admire.

Thank you so much! And economy of words is a good thing and not one I'm normally skilled at, so extra thank yous for that. :-)

They are prickly! They almost refused to talk at all...

Thank you!

Fabulous scene. I love missing scenes with these two and this is one of the best I've read.

I'm intrigued by the idea of Teague being the writer of the Song and the notion of a new verse is fascinating.

Thank you! They certainly have an interesting dynamic.

I actually wrote the new verse this morning, and almost posted it at the end as a coda, but it's about Jack and Lizzie and Will and so diluted the direction of this fic, which was meant to be about father and son.

Oh excellent! Will you be posting it at all? I'd love to read it.

Well, it may have a fic to go with it, but it's kind of a mini-story of its own, so here it is:

The King and her bird keep the heart of their Lord
Buried deep and safe by their swords
They drink from the spring to ward off Death's sting
And e'er more shall sing

(Chorus) Yo ho, all together
Hoist the colors high
Heave ho, thieves and beggars
Never shall we die.

I must have listened to "Hoist the Colors" ten times yesterday, so this just kind of popped into my head while I was trying to sleep...
