DVD Commentary: Drink Deep, or Taste Not

At leobrat's request, my commentary for the second part of my Johnny/Keira series. And yes, as many of you have asked me, there is a third part, but as was the case with this one, it's been very difficult to make it do exactly what I want it to do, so a good deal of it has been waiting on my hard drive for months for the right kind of beginning.

Wow, thank you that was *excellent.* It was so great to get into your head for this fic. You said it's one of your most popular and it's easy to see why- it really resonates and that's what makes it sexy.

Glad you enjoyed it! (I'm embarrassed about how much it reveals of my secret tabloid habit, though. XD)

Oh,my god, this was the best read I've had in AGES. I don't even know where to start. I must have already gone to bed (eastcoaster here) when you posted the meme, IF you posted the meme... but of course I would have wanted to demand ALK but been afraid to ask! Now see? See? Muse to screen, my ass. Look at all that thinking and tabloiding and hard work you did.

But no, I was blurring the lines of what is acceptable in fanfic to write about lines getting blurred--between character and actor, love and art, the acceptable and the forbidden.

Oh, absolutely. And I love this idea. And it's beautifully said.

Good art is dangerous. When you're out of your comfort zone, you're probably doing your best work. And there's some meta-commentary here for this story in particular. I wonder if that's not part of why this darn fic is so popular...Yes! I wholeheartedly agree. I felt this way while writing a couple things, the most challenging things to write for whatever reason, because there was something "extra" that pushed me. Please stay ( ... )

This story lent itself particularly well to commentary; not all of mine do, as I've been discovering while looking at the other requests. I'm glad you found it interesting!

and I loved your aside about insanity and inspiration being awfully similar

"This is either madness, or brilliance!"

"It's remarkable how often those two traits coincide."

There's no going back. Only going forward. You can glue a vase back together, but the cracks will still show. Now I'm close to sure they're talking about love.

Beautiful, of course. And true. I shall have to ponder this further, how this might operate.

Johnny brings it up again when he thinks of piecing himself back together out of Jack. You can put yourself together again, but you end up put together different. Art changes you, too...

Hello. :)

I just wanted to let you know how much I loved and *still* love this fic. It really does resonate, 2+ years later and is one of my all time favorites, of any fandom.

...Just out of curiosity, did that third installment ever come to fruition?
