Sorry to introduce myself this way - but angryjonny said I should "ping" you because we both lived in Korea and taught English. And you are still traveling you lucky ducky... :)
Well, hello, then! No worries about the method of introduction. I think it's kind of a given on the web. :)
Yeah, I was in Korea about 3 years ago, teaching middle school in the middle of nowhere (officially known as Yeongyang County, Gyeongbuk Province). Where were you, and what level did you teach?
The continued travel is a combination of equal parts luck and careful planning, I'd say. I am trying to make it a feature of my career, after all. :)
i was there quite a while ago...12 years maybe. 4 years ago i won a grant to go back for 2 weeks and that was great.
i taught english at a private school and then private classes to business men, kids, students, anybody who wanted them lol.
i lived in seoul but traveled all over. i still keep in touch with one of my best friends from there who is now shuttling back and forth between korea and china for his business.
i got married 9 years ago this dec. and have one daughter so luckily i got that traveling out of my system. my husband doesn't like to travel - but i'm slowly changing his mind. :)
i got my masters in tesol and teach at an elementary school here in missouri. i'm also involved with some state committees and co-chair of the esl dept. for the district. so really i'm still doing the work and loving it!
