I used to have a Datsun with identity issues. (Said Datsun on the inside, Nissan on the outside. --clearly he was made during the changeover from Datsun to Nissan)

Anyway.. the car had chimes that quite literally went "Ding-dong, ding-dong") So my 1 and a half year old sister (at the time.. she's in her twenties and has 2 kids now O.o) dubbed the car "Ding-Dong" and so he was thus ever since. :) Oh, and being a teenager and inheriting the car eventually.. my friends and I decided Ding-Dong was a male car because the emergency brake was between the driver's and passenger side seats (where that basically all are now. LOL) Ah, teenagers. LOL

That's really the only car I ever remember naming. :) And Sissy named it. LOL

I forgot about Murray! How could I forget Murray! He was a White Chrysler New Yorker who talked! He had a very distinguished male voice. And he would say things like, "Please fasten your seat belt" and "A door is ajar"

When you fastened your seatbelt Murray would say, "Thank you" So once my step-dad with a car full of people waited for a bit.. then told the car, "Murray, you're doing a good job" then he surreptitiously fastened his seat belt so Murray said, "Thank you" This got a good laugh.

My little brother (at the time when he was little ) used to argue with Murray about the door. Murray would say' A door is ajar" and Brother would say "No, the door is open!, Stupid car!" LOL

The Hyundai's license plate started with MOT. That's French for "word" so that car became Mot. The first car that I remember having a name in the family was the 1987 Ford Taurus station wagon that Mom named "James" for "Home, James."

The Dodge Stratus I have now so far has escaped naming. Given the ultimate fates of the cars with names this is probably a good thing.
