Everyone in my house is sick except Vivi. We had to send her out for the evening with her grandparents, because no one here could keep up with her. Terrible sore throats, racking coughs, fever, body ache, and chill. Yeck. And can we recall, oh gods of irony, that I was sick not two weeks ago? I've been in bed for three days.

I have been buried in Gilbert Perez research for weeks.  Plus, there's been the plague.  But this evening I did some actual writing, several small scenes.  Here's one, which may someday be the opening to Act II.

For those of you playing along a home, good news: my agent loves the new revision of Plain Kate. She sent a long enthusiastic e-mail, and we had an even more enthusiastic chat. She is sending me what she promises are minor notes, and we hope to have the submission in circulating to the editors she's chosen in early October.

There's a meme going around where you list the first sentences of your fictions.  This is interesting to do, because it turns out I write ghost stories.  I'll bet everyone else knew that about me, but of course I was blind to it.  Also, I seem to love simple declaritive sentences, though I would have told you I was I dialog and gesture kind a gal ( Read more... )
