Writing Synopses, (Prematurely) Conjuring Demons, and Other Professional Hazards for Writers

 For the purposes of grant (among other things) I'm working on a synopsis for my work in progress, Children of Peace.

The Society of Children's Book Wrtiers and Illustrators has this to say about synposes written for their grant competition:

I was going to suggest that you give your husband the job of putting a finish to the last sentence and sending the grant application off for you.

Then it can hide where you won't see it until the work is truly written. Open it up at that point and compare: now wouldn't that be fun?

I don't know how far in you are, but sounds like a good time to apply for a job flipping burgers and start drinking loads of coffee ;) Good luck :)

I'm sure you'll come up with something great though :) just finished Plain Kate and had my socks knocked off by the ending (hence my presence here). I was crying so hard I had leave the story to go and get a tissue. Crying in a good way, I should add - was proud to cry for the characters :) To have to sacrifice/lose your hearts wish when you have so little... and to do so twice.
