When Characters Attack....

The writing part of my brain spent the weekend pacing the floor.

Here's the deal.   I was almost finished with my work in progress, Sorrow's Knot.  I had the ending outlined and quite a bit of it written (for a given value of "written.")   The finished-quality writing had just reached the point where the story takes a sharp turn and starts rushing ( Read more... )

Hooray for the perfect deviation, even if it is putting you in a tight spot with the schedule. You know that these things happen, even in academic non-fiction. I'll be outlining, writing, researching and, all of a sudden, two bits of information will come together, altering the entire mix.

Well-behaved children and manuscripts? What are those?

Maybe that's why I have so much trouble writing. I can't -don't dare- give up any more control. There are already too many forces pulling and pushing.
