A lot has happened in the last month

First off, it appears that this information has been unevenly communicated. For that, I apologize. But I hope you agree that I had a good excuse. (At least at first.)

I’m still midway through writing a very long-winded, exhastive account (with its ( Read more... )

Ow. Ow. Ow. That intersection is just cursed. I hope the healing continues, and wish you as pain-free a set of new stories as possible.

Indeed it is. I’m normally on the lookout for the idiots running the yellow/orange light coming down Market, since they don’t realize how long the intersection is. Their light changes, a second later we get the crosswalk sign, and a good second or two later they pass through the crosswalk.

It happens at least once a week. My favorites are the ones honking and yelling as though it’s our fault we’re in the crosswalk!

The left turn took my by complete surprise.

So far the healing has been surprisingly speedy, and more good days than bad days. And I'm gaining mobility back quickly, even on the bad days. The last two days, however, I've needed more of the Schedule II opioid for breakthrough pain as it seems the nerves in my foot are coming back online. And, of course, I’d just told the doctor I’d all but weaned myself off those pills.

I'm glad you're alive after the latest installment of "I'm a car magnet, come watch" TVTM.

Please continue to follow this trend.

In the meantime, please edit photos, work on your photo website/portfolio and/or work on all the programming projects you've put aside for the last years.

love,
tom

Hey! I’m not just a car magnet. Let’s not forget the first two “And then I woke up in the hospital” stories: I drown and “witnesses say I went over the handlebars, no cars in sight!”

As it turns out, I can do quite a bit of work from home, so I'm not on disability (which is good) But yeah, it does leave time for other things.

Sadly, the project I most want to work on (Clubcar reboot) isn't at a stage for head-down coding, and really needs collaboration. Which I suppose I wasn't doing when I was mobile, so maybe it's time to figure out how to do it virtually.
