Time for a meme!

Stole this from sexyscholar:

Comment and I'll give you four fandoms and you will tl;dr about your favorite pairings.

She gave me As the World Turns (DUH), Merlin, Doctor Who and Across the Universe.

Merlin/Arthur: Merlin
SPOILERS FOR SEASONS 1&2 BELOW

I caught the first season when NBC aired it last year. I had seen a few people on my friends list fangirling over the pairing, but I just thought people were watching the show with their slash goggles on. BUT I WAS SO WRONG. You don't need anything to see the subtext and chemistry between these two! And it's that chemistry that makes me ship the actors, Bradley James and Colin Morgan. And I very rarely do RPS.

Arthur's first words to Merlin? "Do you know how to walk on your knees?" I AM NOT EVEN JOKING.

The entire first season revolved around how Merlin and Arthur's destinies were entwined. How they were "two sides of the same coin" and basically how they were going to end up married with Gwen as Arthur's beard. Also, the loyalty between these two is crazy. In "The Poisoned Chalace," one of my favorite episodes from the first season, Merlin drinks poison to save Arthur's life (something he does a lot) and Arthur defies his father to go find the antidote. It's probably the most non-subtexty episode in a season full of non-subtexty episodes, lol.

The fear in Arthur's eyes when Merlin decides to drink the poison and the determination in Merlin to save Arthur from death.

Arthur is the first one at Merlin's side when he falls. This a prince and his servant, remember. Arthur shouldn't be this devoted to someone of Merlin's rank.

An then even poisoned and near death, Merlin's sole interest is helping Arthur. Also, Colin makes the most pornographic noises ever. Someone should teach him the difference between in pain and turned on (unless, you know, that's his kink). But it does give the vidders great footage. ;)

The second season is sadly less slashy because the writers are blind and decide, for some reason, to pursue the mythological canon and start a relationship with Gwen. However, throughout the entire show so far, it is exceedingly clear how far Arthur and Merlin will go for each other.

In "Sins of the Father" Merlin sacrifices his chance to have Arthur discover and possibly accept Merlin's magic (Uther has outlawed it in Camelot and it is punishable by death) so Arthur's relationship with Uther can remain in tact. He put his life once more in danger for Arthur, who announces he will hunt down those who use magic with even more force, thanks to Merlin.

Unfortunately Merlin's Keep, where I got all the photos for my graphics, does not have any season 2 screencaps. I have a few, so here you go:

Merlin is always at Arthur's side

When someone Merlin cared for very deeply dies, Arthur knows something is wrong with his servant, but doesn't know the specifics (magic was involved). But he tries to cheer Merlin up anyway. LOOK AT THE LOVE ON ARTHUR'S FACE. YOU GUYS.

Merlin knows what Arthur is feeling. BECAUSE THEY'RE IN LUUUURVE

The boys bond over their single-parent childhoods. Arthur's mother died in childbirth (or did she?) and Merlin's father abandoned him (or did he?)

Alsoo...have a few fan vids that I love:

Instead of the legend that Merlin is immortal and waits for Arthur to be reincarnated, it is Arthur who must wait out the years for Merlin.

Reason #1 I ship Colin/Bradley (and why you should too!)

Luke Snyder/Dr. Reid Oliver: As the World Turns

Where do I begin? The chemistry between these two men is insane. Luke (Van Hansis) and Reid (Eric Sheffer Stevens) met when Luke brought Reid to Oakdale from Dallas to perform a surgery to save Noah (Jake Silbermann), who has gone blind because he's an idiot after a fireworks accident. Luke and Noah's relationship had gone downhill way before Reid showed up, but when he did the chemistry, interpreted at hatred, was instantaneous.

A few months and deliciously soapy storylines later, Luke and Reid can't deny the attraction they have to each other. They have gotten under each other's skin, which is a huge thing especially for Reid who lets no one in. They have helped each other grow in different ways, making them better people. That, to me, is the sign of an adult relationship. Luke wisely leaves Noah in the dust and goes for Reid.

How do I make you feel?

Now they're subject to what many call the homophobia of the ATWT writers, and considering a heterosexual couple had sex after being together for less time than Luke and Reid were together, I'm starting to agree. That and the endgame spoilers lead me to believe the writers are only fooling themselves when they say they treated their homosexual couples fairly.

BUT OMG THE HOTNESS OF THESE TWO. IT BURNS SO GOOD. AND THEIR LOVE MAKES ME WEEP BITTERSWEET TEARS. DAMN YOU, WRITERS!

(Screencaps by me from YouTube)

If you still don't believe how hot these two are, have a look at all their kisses to date (Courtesy of happyinchintz72 and smuschshypush):

Ninth Doctor/Rose Tyler: Doctor Who

Again, where do I start? First of all, Nine (Christopher Eccleston) was my Doctor. He's the one I started watching, he's the one I fell in love with. And it was his chemistry with Rose (Billie Piper) that made the show even lovlier.

Run

The Doctor had been traveling alone for an unknown amount of time and has no interest in taking a companion. And then he met Rose, who impressed him with her ability to think quickly and adapt quickly to the strange happenings around her. He let her in when he thought he would be alone forever. And my favorite Nine/Rose episode, "Dalek," truly shows this.

What about you, Doctor? What the hell are you turning into?

Okay, it's a tie between "Dalek," and this moment from "World War III":

I could save the world but lose you

She takes a man that, as the Tenth Doctor says in the fourth season finale, was born in fire and blood, and reminds him how to be as human as he can be. And we see that in his final act: sacrificing himself to save her.

I think you need a doctor

Funny Doctor Who moments! Includes some Ten, but I love me some David Tennant so I don't mind. :D

Max/Penny: Across the Universe

This is going to sound really, really weird, but I am all about the AtU/Hairspray crossovers. I know most people just ship Max/Jude, and while I can't deny their friendship sometimes crosses the line, I read a Hairspray crossover a while back and ever since it's all I ship. I started my own, where after college Penny (Amanda Bynes) moves to New York and moves in with Max (Joe Anderson) and Jude (Jim Sturgess) and the gang. The years matched up and it just really intrigued me. Maybe one day I will finish it.

(Sorry for the crappy Photoshop job, I'm a bit exhausted. I've been at this all night!)

And now that I have your attention (or maybe not, I really went on, didn't I?) I just have to say I have been watching a lot of Firefly/Serenity lately and HOW DID I NOT SHIP MAL/SIMON BEFORE NOW? There is so much UST I can't even stand it. Especially in the movie.

RAWR.

Also, I read this amazing Doctor Who/Firefly crossover, "Out of Joint" a while ago and now all I can think of is the pretty that is Captain Jack Harkness/Simon Tam.

*drools*

Okay, so...this took me approximately five hours to do? I'm ridiculous but I hope you enjoyed it!
