12 Days of Sylar for
heroes_sylar - On the Tenth Day of Sylar, my true love gave to me - Ten Warm Brains.
Type: Drabble
Ten stone slabs laid in a circle, a spotlight on each with darkness enveloping the rest of the large, circular room, save for the very center. There Sylar stood absorbing all of the powers empathically, draining the very essences of his victims.
It was so easy to get around the system now. No one even suspected that the mass-murdering psychopath of a man wasn’t dead. Nathan Petrelli made sure of that. His leadership saved the country, after all.
Often Sylar would turn his victim’s powers upon them, hearing them scream out shouts of fear and horror, before he would slice into their heads. He had to do it. He couldn’t have any witnesses running free and the feeling of the warm tissue on his hands always gave him a rush that just powers never could. Their brains toppled from their bodies and surrounded the circle in a bloodily ritualistic fashion. They all died. Their short existence merely furthered the extension of the species. This was the future and Sylar was their king.
The prison escape had provided him with plenty of victims for this particular power feast. That silly Nakamura man thought he could save them all. They were no match for the prison guards, who had found particular favor in Nathan’s court - they alone were whom Sylar trusted the most, save for himself. It wasn’t until Nathan flew to the site and electrocuted Nakamura with his own hands that Sylar realized he would finally have the power to change history to his favor. Maybe screams of joy could replace screams of sorrow?
