I think it may be a greater test of faith when you think that you can do something about it. think of it like this. Does a woman have a higher pain tolerance because she gives birth, an act which she has little control over? No, however if she wanted to actually test her pain tolerance she could stick her hand in a fire. We would know that she could tolerate it because she willingly stuck it in there and kept it there in spite of the pain and when she could have taken it out. In the same way, I dont feel like it is as much a testing of your faith when you have no control at all, as when you willingly surrender control that you do have (or think you have) to God. It shows faith because it shows that you had the option and chose to trust God, you weren't forced. that is just my thought though. I am sorry to hear about your mother. I just said a prayer for you and her and your dad.

I hope everythign is okay with your mom...im sorry she is sick but I know that with prayer everything will be okay. hope school is going well and just remember that in a few days it will be thanksgiving break and you can be with your family and friends from home and relax for a while....we really need to hang outa nd i PROMISE the next time im in birmingham ill call you...will you still be at samford on monday and tuesday? i get to go home friday and i MIGHT actually be in tuscaloosa on saturday! but ill call you if you will be in bham.
