I downloaded the pilot of the office and could barely make it through it. Does it get better, then? I'm not a big fan of 'omg that is just so awkward HA HA!' humor

yes, it deffinitely gets better. Let me give you an example. The Boss and Dwight through a series of events, end up fighting in a karate dojo just so the boss can prove he's tough. And he extends lunch into a 2 hour ordeal so everyone can watch, and basically, it's pretty funny how stupid they get.
