Me too! Not knowing what it was, I bought a used copy of the first couple of episodes on VHS back in the early 90s. I must of watched it a twenty times that first week. I've been hooked ever since.

Yeah. I was hooked in the late 80's when I was a kid at school. I could quote my way through the first 2-3 series. It was filmed in my home city too!

I have been enjoying this series of paintings. I do not have much to add other than, "cool" with most of these ...

This one, I vaguely remember there being an asteroid stuck in the side of the ship.

This is going off the first season. Netflix now has the whole series on instant play so I've been revisiting it.

It is on the underside of the ship and you can see it on the opening sequence. If I remember, they did not really talk about it in the series. Only that it was a hug mining ship. Whether they were mining the astroid or it just hit the ship and became encased in the hull, was never explained.
