So long, farewell

I left home for Islandia Wednesday morning. After too many potty stops and a nasty McD's hamburger, I pulled in to the driveway at around 1:30. Progress from the highway through the neighboring town was slow because it was Amish market day and the market had just closed, so there were lots of buggies on the road. I was greeted by Mom and Dorn, who ( Read more... )

It's the end of an era.

We lost power around 6:30 am, and it's still out, so I'm over at Dave's, doing laundry and recharging. I'll probably be a nice mom and fold the laundry they had in the dryer. Dave's network is named after one of the cats.

So sweet about the mouse, but I have to say I like the stuffed ones better!

The stuffed mouse is so sweet! I hope she loves it.

As for the school... that's what they get for starting so frickin' early. What's next though? Locusts?!

Thanks for the hugs. Unfortunately, my mom doesn't do computers so I can't email at odd hours of the night or send her links. And there's a four-hour time difference, which makes calling at good time hard. Strangely, our unlimited long distance plan can't reach Alaska (something to do with the way cables were laid way back when, Karl tells me), so I do my talking to her and Dorn on an old, clunky TracFone that has 1800 minutes on it. Every year we renew it so Lydia can use it at cons and other random times when we have to be separated, and the minimum number of minutes you can put on it when you renew is 400. So Mom and I can chat all we want!
